When using Remote Desktop (RDP) connections to access servers, it is often useful to be able to copy and paste files and text from the local PC to the remote machine. Sometimes, however, copy & paste seems to stop working.

My colleague Dave found a blog explaining the cause of this problem. A process called rdpclip.exe runs on the remote machine and enables the copy & paste functionality. Sometimes this process gets “stuck” hence copy & paste does not work.

The fix is to kill the rdpclip.exe process using Task Manager and then restart it by entering “rdpclip.exe” at the Start | Run prompt.

Fulham’s achievements this season have been little short of miraculous and the love of Hodgson at Fulham is obvious. “Stand up for Roy Hodgson” they sang early in the game.
WOW! Microsoft just announced a new program called WebSpark. For just hundred bucks (fifty quid), you get everything a small company needs to run WebApps.

WebSpark is designed for independent web developers and web development companies that build web applications and web sites on behalf of others. It enables you to get software, support and business resources from Microsoft at no cost for three years, and enables you to expand your business and build great web solutions using ASP.NET, Silverlight, SharePoint and PHP, and the open source applications built on top of them.

Ofcourse there is a catch though, it is for very small companies. That means to join this program

Your company builds web sites and web application on behalf of others.

Your company currently has less than 10 employees.

If you meet these requirements you can visit the WebSpark Website and sign-up today.

What We get?

Windows Web Server 2008 R2 – 4 processor licenses for production use!

SQL Server 2008 – 4 processor licenses for production use!

Expression Studio 3 – 1 license including Expression Web, Blend and Sketchflow

Expression Web – 2 licenses

Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition – 3 licenses

DotNetPanel control panel (to manage your servers, and allow your customers to manage their site!)

What happens after the 3 years?

WebsiteSpark is a 3 year program. There is no obligation to continue to use any of the software after the three years is over, and there are no costs for the three years other than a $100 program fee at the end of the three years.

At the end of the three years, WebsiteSpark participants can optionally choose to purchase all of the software in the WebsiteSpark program via a $999/year package. This includes 3 copies of VS Professional, 1 copy of Expression Studio (including Blend and Sketchflow), 2 copies of Expression Web, and 4 processor licenses of Windows Web Server 2008 and 4 processor licenses of SQL Server Web edition that can be used for production deployment.

Alternatively, if you want to purchase only the production server licenses, you can take advantage of a $199/year offering that includes both 1 Windows Web Server processor license and 1 SQL Server Web edition processor license. You can buy the quantity you need of this package at $199/year each.

Don’t delay claim today!

Hi There,

Been here long time and learn many things from asp.net community. But the following post made me to do something which I always dreaming of doing.

http://misfitgeek.com/blog/i-rsquo-m-asked-how-did-you-learn-what-you-know/

Always thought of posting my great findings but always been working on security related projects (for HMRC through Capgemini and before Thames valley police) so never find a way to mask the details and contribute it for the community.

Recently started working on an United Utilities project on behalf of Vertex. First time, I am working on a project that isn’t much of secrecy involved in its core. That means, I can showcase some bits and pieces here. So I am planning to share with you guys some of the framework details and coding horrors that I have come across.

I am planning to do this in LINQ2SQL. It won’t be like our regular Northwind example. It is the real time, hardcore and technically challenging (for me anyway). So follow me on this blog for the updates..

Thanks…
